The dead in Christ shall rise first

The dead in Christ shall rise first

“Surely the Lord GOD will do “nothing” but he “revealeth” His secret unto his servants the prophets” Amos 3:7.

Many have believed that the rapture is going to happen “all” together at the same time in a disappearing vanishing moment, but is that really what the Bible says about the rapture? If you are a student or a teacher of the rapture we all should know the first thing that happens at the rapture and why the dead rise first.
The 3 key points on the rapture are, the dead will rise first and the mortals will be changed and then we will be caught up in the clouds to see Jesus. 1Cor15:52 # 1: At this first event the dead shall be raised [1453]  [egeiro] from perishable to imperishable.

Does the Bible actually say why the dead rise first? Does it say how these will be carried out? What will it look like to see the dead rise up out of their graves? Does the Bible give us anything to compare to, to see just how it will play out? What the Bible says may be very shocking to look at, and as a matter fact Paul does say in 1Thess 4:13-17 that He does not want us, as brothers and sisters in Christ, to be ignorant or mistaken or uninformed about the dead in Christ. There is something very interesting in this text in the Bible, all the verses but one is addressing the dead in Christ. Why is this so important to Paul for us as Christians not to be uninformed about the dead? Let’s see if we are close enough to the Lords return for this mystery to be revealed and what is it that the Bible clearly and plainly says on this subject.

Looking at these 3 parts on the rapture and what they mean can be “very shocking”. Now let’s unfold the mystery that Paul does not want us to be blindsided about.

The biggest and most surprising thing about the rapture is when the dead are raised to imperishable, see 1 Corinthians15:52. That word means raised [1453] ἐγείρω [egeiro /eg·i·ro/] to recall the dead to life, rise up, to cause to appear, bring before the public. Can you imagine that, to see the dead walking among us like Jesus did? But that’s what it means and this same word is used again in Matt27 :52 when many others saints rose up after Jesus did and showed themselves to many people. Now keep in mind all the resurrections in the Bible were witnessed by people. Is this the only instance talked about in the Bible? No. 1Thess 4:14 is very clear in comparing the dead in Christ to how Christ rose. Verse14 reads "If we believe that Jesus died and rose [450] again, even “SO” [3779] [οὕτως[houto] “after this manner” in this manner thus, even so, on this fashion] God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. So in verse 14 God is going to raise the dead in Christ the same way He raised Jesus. Verse 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord. Now in v16 when the dead rise first that word rise[450] is the same word for Jesus rose [450] in V14 That word rose means [450] ἀναπηδάω, ἀνίστημι [anistemi] to cause to rise up, to cause to appear, bring forward of those about to enter into conversation or dispute with anyone, or to undertake some business,] Now that’s not a disappearing and vanishing moment. We should never add to a meaning of a word in the Bible. Wow, can you imagine seeing the dead in Christ appear to us as Christ appeared to his disciples and many others!

Now the next event #2, v17 we that are alive and remain [4035] and it means [leave over, to remain over, to survive.] So at this point these two are not going to happen at the same time. What is very interesting about the mortal being changed[236] in the moment, in the twinkling of an eye, again it does not means to disappear or vanish. The word change[236]  to exchange one thing for another, to transform.], it just means to change one to the other real fast, the words do not mean to disappear or vanish at all and again we should never add to a definition of the meaning of a word to the Bible….A word picture or a parallel that might help to see this point, is to take a coin between your thump and index finger and flip it from heads to tales as fast as you can without dropping it. It does not mean to disappear and vanish.

Now the last event is #3, the up, up and away. 1Thess4:17 “caught up”, the great gathering together in the clouds, to be with Lord always. The rapture[ 726] [harpazo] “catch away” twice, “pluck” twice, “catch” once, and “pull” once. 1 to seize, carry off by force. 2 to seize on, claim for one’s self eagerly. 3 to snatch out or away. This is also a very fast event but the word does not mean to disappear, vanishing. It’s just not this definition, let us remember Jesus is going to appear in the clouds to call us home. Yes the rapture will be quite the undeniable event with graves open, mortals caught up in the clouds to be with Jesus, wow. I bet some reports will say UFO’s have done this.

So let’s be ready for one last revival, can you imagine the souls to bring in at this time? One more thing I would like to mention in 1Thess 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, The Greek word here, Shout [2752] ke,leusma (pronounced "kelusma"), means "a shout, a command, a signal, a loud summons to carry out a procedure, a stimulating cry, that shout is called awakening blast to raise the dead in Christ. This word corresponds perfectly with the Hebrew word teruah. This "shout" which is given at the time of Messiah's return is the "teruah" a time of 40 days of repentance to turning back to the Lord, seeking forgiveness, to make wrongs right. The 40 days of Jesus resurrection was in perfect alignment with “Terauh” in how Jesus spent his 40 days of time to get his own to return to him and repent before he departed into the clouds. When the resurrection saints raise up like Jesus rose at the rapture, you will have a answer out of the Bible why they have risen first. Having a answer to why this is happening and be able to turn to loved ones and friends to say, we only have a few days to get right with God because when The trumpet of God is sounded in verse16 it will be a very frightening thing to those who repented not and are left to experience the Great Tribulation.

My last words are:

When the graves are open and people start to run to and fro asking you questions, just like the disciples on Jesus resurrection day, don’t be ignorant and uninformed, caught off guard; don’t be so confused yourself, to the point that people won’t believe any credible thing you can say. We are to be ready to give an answer out of the word. 1 Peter 3:15 Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, Paul does not want us to be ignorant about the dead in Christ. Get ready to witness, for the dead in Christ will rise like Jesus rose.

Another thought - think of the wise and foolish virgins. The foolish were waiting for the groom too, but when it was ANNOUNCED His arrival was imminent, they THEN started looking for oil. They had time to ask the wise for oil and the wise told them no can do. There is a period of time between the announcement and when the door is closed. While the foolish were shopping for oil (as if one can buy it - yeah, right), the door was closed.

The left-wing MSM (e.g., CBC News and CTV News) are going into hysterics laughing about this poor church and the misguided pastor. But the intelligent Christian thinkers I talk to stress that it is impossible to set an exact date. In fact, there are several "books" that were intended to be included in the Christian Bible -- but were excluded simply because they had forecast end-of-the-world years (somewhere between 200AD and 600AD) which had already passed, by the time the final set of books were decided upon.As for me, up until age 56 I was the typical secular writer. But I came to the conclusion that there is going to be a nuclear exchange in the Middle East, triggered by Iran having nuclear weapons and Israel retaliating. Note that Iran will trigger it with atomic bombs, and Israel will retaliate with hydrogen weapons, most likely with MIRV-tipped missles. Most scholars view the Flood tale as a local flood in in the Middle East. The Bible (and I do not have the reference handy) states that the next world-ending event will be "the fire next time". The fire next time will be a regional event, much like the Flood of about 10,000 BC.So as for me, I converted to Christianity five years ago (I attend a Baptist church each Sunday and contribute to three different ministries) solely because of the "fire" prediction. It agrees fully with competent observers Iran's buildup -- and of Israel's enemies.I converted because, alone, I cannot psychologically handle an thermal nuclear exchange in the Middle East. Maybe some of the facile commentators on this site can. When the nuclear exchange takes place, hundreds of thousands of people will die, and the world economy will be shattered. The anti-Christian MSM reporting is so facile, as stupid and as mindless as the liberal-left coverage of Mahmoud Ahmadinedad and his fascistic government. Were are living as people did in 1905, with an unheard-of World War I in the immediate future. I prefer to be the Christian writer, brooding about our unsavory future. It beats joining the MSM here.

The Rapture is idiotic nosnesne. At the end of the Anti-Christ's reign, about 2437, Jesus Christ returns. The Virgin Mary accompanies him. From about 2438 to 2439, the last of the worldwide afflictions described by the Book of Revelation take place. It is the Seventh Trumpet which is comprised of the seven bowls of God's wrath. The wicked are punished with great severity. Soon afterwards, the time of great holiness and peace over all the earth begins, which will last over 1,000 years. This period of more than a thousand years is called the Millennium. At the beginning of the Millennium, Christ again ascends to heaven (Second Ascension), and again sends the Holy Spirit upon the Church. (Second Pentecost) Mary is again assumed into heaven. (Second Assumption) After the Millennium, there is another conflict of good against evil, then a period of rebuilding and renewal. Sometime after that is the General Resurrection, when Jesus Christ returns again to judge the living and the dead.

All you need to do is cleanse yourself afterwards, so whether you've mixed your linen, eaten the wrong sort of food, or had homosexual relations with someone of the same gender, its not a big issue, its just about whether you can sacrifice in the temple after doing it.Third: as a Galilean Rabbi of the first century CE, Jesus, as seen in various gospel stories, has a pretty relaxed attitude to much of the law, i.e. work' on the Sabbath, and really wasn't as hard line about fulfilling every commandment as an exacting requirement. Also, as a Galilean Rabbi he'd be pretty much amazed that anyone was worshipping him, and would most likely be far more worked up about that than anything else.Fourth: Rapture as an idea really has very little to do with the Bible, or most parts of the Christian tradition come to that I know this may come as a shock to lots of Americans, especially Christians, but it really is a rather odd minority cult in the tradition, and you have to do some pretty hard exegesis (biblical interpretation) to find it. Its also pretty clear that Jesus said that nobody knows when things are coming to an end. But, on a cheerier note, there is quite a lot of very respectable theological speculation based in the mainstream Christian tradition, and many of its most significant theologians, that God wants to save everyone and will in fact do so: an idea found in everyone from the speculative Alexandrian Origen to contemporary evangelicals, via some key Catholic and Orthodox thinkers. So relax, even if the looney-nutcase rapturists are right it might just turn out that God is a nice old lady!

- All who had resurrected including those included in Jesus' miracles, were referred to by Jesus, Paul, Peter, and other apostles, as those that had only fallen asleep and had not died.
- the Old Testament Saints and the New Testament Saints including those who are alive at the time Jesus is going to take them up in His Father's Kingdom, belongs to the First Resurrection.
- All the Dead (from Old testament to New Testament and on to Millenium, not asleep, but experience the first death and are in the Hades/Grave) who are not believers will be raised up after the millenium (Second Resurrection), to face the White Throne Judgement, either will taste the second death (Lake of Fire) or will be part in the New Heaven and New Earth.
- If the bodies of the Dead in Christ will be glorified at the rapture to be reconciled with its soul & spirit, does this mean that the Soul & Spirit are with Jesus when He comes down to get His elect? Its much easier on the part of those who are alive at that time; for the body, the soul, and spirit are altogether at that instant. In the case of the Dead in Christ it is much complicated, although nothing is impossible to God. Just a thought, that's why I came up with the comatose state idea of the Dead in Christ, which come to think of it, being comatose is being asleep for a long period of time and having no consciousness of how long you have been on that state. And as you wake up you will just feel like you just had a short nap or a deep sleep. I believe those who have gone before us will not precede us but will be meeting with Jesus in the air altogether at the same time (vise versa). Again, nothing is impossible to God (Alpha and Omega, A day is like a thousand years to God)
- Daniel's Vision of Thrones being set up and the kingdom was handed to the saints, is about the first resurrection. The vision in the last chapter of Daniel is about the Second Resurrection.
- This is a long shot. I need help on this, please check this out from the original Greek and Hebrew translation if this is in contradiction to my view. About the Ancient of Days, I think this does not pertains to a being or a person, but a realm of multitude of time frames or time warps of each and every saints that are rising from their sleep and were presented to the Anointed One. I hope I'm wrong about this. I would appreciate if someone will give light on this.

- Let me add again to my explanation about my idea of the Dead in Christ are just sleeping. Remember the miracle of Jesus, raising Lazarus and the girl from their death (as His disciples understands it that way but Jesus said they were only asleep). They've been dead for four days. So if the belief that the soul and the spirit goes instantly to Heaven after they die, then this means they were summoned again by Jesus to come back again to be with their bodies so they will live again. Is this belief contradicts the parable that Jesus told to the Jews about Lazarus and the Rich Man? As some scholars use this parable to explain about the soul & spirit goes instantly to heaven when they die. But this is just a parable just to make it plain and attractive for the Jews to understand what Jesus is trying to convey in His message for them only. Imagine Abraham being called by the Rich Man as Father Abraham? Is it proper to call Abraham father if there is only One Father in Heaven? So I think this is not the real state in Heaven, it's more of an allegory, and should not be used to backup the belief of souls and spirit going instantly to Heaven when they die. Even the plea of the rich man to send someone from their end to go back to this world to warn his brothers, but was rebuked by Abraham, clearly tells us that God does not intend for man to have a chance to go back to this world again, and if ever He allows it, because His Son Jesus ask Him to, then God would have to erase every memory of the experiences of Lazarus and the girl they had in Heaven.
I believe in Visions and Dreams, but one experiencing an out of his body experience and going to Heaven or Hell then goes back and narrates what he had experienced, for me is something questionable. We have to be careful and ask the Holy Spirit for discernment. The Devil is deceitful and can do wonders and miracles to distort the truth and to keep us away from the truth.
Everything we have to know about Heaven and Hell is described in the Book of Revelation.

The word "rapture" is no where in the bible. The dead in Christ are just that...dead to the word. Not physically dead, but mentally dead. They do not believe or read the word.

Remember where God said that the teachers that teach wrongly will be judged. Be careful how and what you teach you will be responsible for all the people you lead down the wrong path.. Revelations tell us that there were only 2 churches that taught the word the way it should be taught.

When Christ comes to raise the dead and change those still alive it is the 2nd and only 2nd coming. There is no 3rd coming. There are several events that are going to take place when He comes. If he doesn`t come for the 2nd time the dead will not be raised and we will not meet Him it the air. Many people would like to believe that this event happens "before the 2nd coming of Christ and that the 2nd coming won`t happen until He sets foot on the Mt of Olives but it is "all" happening at the "only" second coming. The bible says nothing about a 3rd coming or 2 2nd comings or a secret coming to gather the living and dead saints before the 2nd coming. God bless.

I agree with all you said but one thing. In matthew & only in matthew it says AT JESUS' DEATH there was a great earthquake & the tombs were open & many came back to life but STAYED IN THE TOMBS UNTIL JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD. THEY CAME TO LIFE AT THE MOMENT OF HIS DEATH NOT AFTER HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD

I am trying to study this same concept with the correct way of interpreting the bible. For example, dispensationally, rightly dividing the word of truth, and through the apostle Paul (apostle to the gentiles), pretrib rapture and so on and so forth. And I see this guy understands the pretrib rapture to some extent. I hope he doesn't think passages in Matthew and other books outside of Romans-Philemon have passages about the rapture, because they don't. I only say this, because he has repent at the bottom of the message. And we should all know that repent is not part of the gospel of Christ in Romans-Philemon. And we know repent doesn't mean to turn from sins, but rather to change your mind. God repents in the bible several times and we know God isn't turning from sin's because he has none. So I think as Christians, we need to start preaching a Pure, Clear, Biblical gospel that pertains to the church, not Israel. The bible says God views mankind in 3 different types. Jew, Gentile, and Neither Jew nor Gentile or rather Church. So there is always going to be passages about Jews, Gentiles, and then the church. The chuch is us. But we also cant confuse the Church that comes in the tribulation and Revelation because that isn't the same Church that is in Romans-Philemon. That chuch is called the body of Christ. Also, there are 2 gospels in God's book. So you won't be able to get our gospel from Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. Our gospel is in Paul's epistles. We know this because the revelation of the mystery was a secret hid in God from before the world began. So if its a secret God hid, than it cant possibly be in prophecy or Israels program. Because those are prophecies not mysteries!!! It's easy.

Remember peters words how he does not want us to be ignorant about dead in Christ. Most continue to seek what's only on the dug ace of that which is the word of God. Truly I believe that the dead in Christ is not dead in the flesh but of the spirit, those who were asleep in the spirit which he will awaken in the days God places his halo upon the Earth. I believe this event has happen and continues to happen at this very moment. I came to this conclusion through personal experience. 1 year ago I would of argued the idea of how God did not exist and would of provided a sound argument on the case. Yet I stand today a strong proud follower of Christ and these views in me literally changed over night. He wants us to ask him with truthful intent, for him to show us the truth then continue to seek his word which is the truth. And he will manifest his knowledge within you by the way and power of the Holy Spirit . Glory be to God. Truly I was dead in Christ but my people now I see so clearly. Amen
